 Re your comment edit: Theres no reason why an English release couldn't be close after, as you could get the acetates across in 4 days by liner in 1930.

There are many reasons why a UK release of an American record might have been issued much later than the original US release. Usually they came out about two months later, if they came out at all.

 Thanks carryonsidney. Although I suspect that (US) Brunswick 4952 may have been released in Dec 1930, it is safe to assume that the UK issue did not come out before 1931.

 A book by Mark Tucker which is online on Google books seems to suggest the american disc of this was released in January 1931 simultanesly with the "Feetwarmers" version on OKEH [Duke again] see here.

Theres no reason why an English release couldn't be close after, as you could get the acetates across in 4 days by liner in 1930.

 1931 release date of Brunswick 1068 confirmed by an article in The Spectator of 17 July 1931 (although it refers to an earlier article in The Gramophone), already revealing that The Jungle Band was a pseudonym for Duke Ellington's band, and that the "correct" title of "Dreamy Blues" was "Mood Indigo".
