xiphophilos 11th Jun 2017		Helene Gespass (1886-1909) was a star at Gimpel's Yiddish Theater in Lemberg in Galicia (also known as Lwów, now Lviv in Ukraine), whose chorus she joined in 1905, and then later in vaudeville in Austria and Galicia. She recorded quite a few records for Beka, but her recordings also appeared on Favorite, Odeon, Victor, and Columbia (see, e.g., https://rsa.fau.edu/artist/172).
