| | Allan Sutton, in Pseudonyms on American Records (1892-1942), indicates that early use of the Bar Harbor Society Orchestra name on Vocalion usually meant a Ben Selvin unit. He also states that there may not have been identity of personnel between Selvin's own orchestra and the unit that appeared under the Bar Harbor name. He therefore opts to treat it as a entity in its own right, as, in fact, Brian Rust did before him in the American Dance Band Discography. |
