 Jimmy Wakely took "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" to #1 in the C&W and #10 in the pop charts. It was, however, written and first recorded (see Crystal 132) by the singing cowboy Eddie Dean (so that spelling is correct) who wrote it, as the complete composer credits on Bob Eberly's version show (see Decca 24492), together with Dearest Dean and Hal Blair. "Dearest" Dean, who obviously had Dean's name, was his wife Lorene née Donelly.

The song was recorded again by Jerry Lee Lewis whose version reached #3 on the C&W charts in 1969.
