| | As I was already working on it, I have corrected the release dates of all Columbia 15000-D series records from January 1927 to June 1928. You'll find the sources for 1927 in Talking Machine World as well. |

| | Done that, and also corrected these by Darby And Tarlton:
¤ 15197-D from Oct 1927 to Dec 1927
¤ 15212-D from Dec 1927 to Feb 1928
¤ 15254-D from Mar 1928 to Jun 1928 |

| | Unfortunately, the 15000-D series was apparently not listed anymore in Talking Machine World from July 1928 on, but continuing the number of releases of the first six months, cat# 15293-D would rather be released in October 1928, not in September. |

¤ Columbia 15229-D to 15238-D were all on the April 1928 list, see Talking Machine World, Apr 1928, p. 106,
¤ Columbia 15239-D to 15247-D were all on the May 1928 list, see Talking Machine World, May 1928, p. 112.

| | @fixbutte I'm working closely with the catalog numbers and recording dates to try and get the 15000-D series in some kind of order. As far as the melody used in "The Hobo Tramp" goes, I wish my mother was still living because she could probably tell me. Her father was a fiddle player from Mississippi. |

| | Hi Mike Gann,
your required release date change from July 1928 to September 1928 seems very reasonable considering the recording date of Columbia 15301-D a few numbers behind (August 27, 1928).
I was wondering from where I know the melody of "The Hobo Tramp" which sounds very familiar to me. Norm Cohen in his book Traditional Anglo-American Folk Music says it was a variant of "Little Red Caboose Behind The Train" which was in print in the 1890s, but I'm sure there were more recent lyrics on the same melody. |
