 16000 was the US Hillbilly Series. Originally pressed in the US, some were later pressed in the UK (examples of both are shown here). UK copies probably for release there and/or possibly Canada or elsewhere. Later releases in the series were mainly Canadian artists and some were not issued in the US.

There was also a 17000 series for Rhythm & Blues, again originally with green labels. These series could maybe be listed separately to avoid confusion with the Pop series UK and US records.
