Jerry And Peggy - The Carolina Sunshine Girls
505 and 510 in the FS LA listing should be moved to here. Reported to Mods. Just looked below and it seems I reported this 3 years ago. Deadly confusing and one of them copied the other label name almost exactly.

The Byrd Brothers - Payday In Heaven / Hold Fast To The Right
505 and 510 in the FS LA listing should be moved to here. Reported to Mods. There was also an early 500 series which I think preceded this.

Tennessee Valley Boys - Why Pick On Me / I'm Lonesome For You Tonight
Shouldn't we move 510 and 505 to it's own listing? As the note after the listing said, these were subsids of Jim Stanton's Rich-R'Tone label and unrelated except that one nicked the name from the other. There's also an intended RRT 78 by Emerson Leigh that Stanton put out with a white FS label. See RRT list. Copy sent to the Mods.

Hardin Bros. Quartette - O Jerusalem Fair / I'll Leave My Troubles Here Below
It would seem most unlikely that this is the fact. The two predominent voices do not sound like Ralph or Carter Stanley and the Hardin Bros. Quartette were popular for years, including on Acme. See and hear the entry on YouTube - sure is prime stuff..

Jimmie Dale - Moaning The Blues / Nobody's Lonesome For Me
The unconvincing Jimmy Dale sides were following the same idea of HB covers at a cheaper price than the current hit versions. Other such efforts were on Vocalion [as revived by Decca] and Bluebird [from RCA-Victor of course]. Dale later did more for Vocalion [see below] but the big labels soon lost interest as did King for their new Federal 10001 series, leaving the field open for Tops and the many others that followed.

They immediately reverted to digging up their ancient stuff as they had previously done on their DeLuxe 5000 series. They did sign up a couple of artists, Tommy Scott & Tommy Magness [inc. Reno & Smiley] but soon transferred these artists to King and discontinued the series. The other majors followed suit and Federal soon became known as an important R&B label via its 12000 series. btw - this DJ label version appears only on the 2 Dale records. Few of the old sides ever appeared on DJ at all but collectors are grateful that Syd Nathan dug up all the 40s stuff.
