 The "von" is a German nobiliary particle, signifying descent from the aristocracy.

The interesting thing about the von Tilzers is, though, that they were self-fashioned nobility. Their family name was Gumm, shortened from Gumbinsky, and their parents were Polish Jewish immigrants who settled first in Detroit, then in Indianapolis. The oldest brother, Harry, had the idea to adopt their mother's maiden name, Tilzer, as his alias and tack on the aristocratic "von" after he joined a traveling circus as a 14-year-old runaway. Later, when Harry became a respected composer and music publisher under that name, his three brothers also changed their names.(wikipedia)

 The second composer on the A side is "Albert Von Tilzer". The label has "A. Tilzer". As far as I know, "Von Tilzer" is the last name, even though separated and appears to be 2 names.
