  J. Paul, The original release date apparently has been corrected in DAHR to Nov. 1912. The later takes are later releases. I also have the batwing label as shown above with take #14, which was recorded Sep. 26, 1919.
There was also a later take (17) with matrix BVE-11791 (recorded Jun. 10, 1925) for catalogue # 19823. I think they added VE to the mx # to stand for Victor Electric, referring to an electrical recording.

Bob1951’s labels are older than the “batwing” labels - can we get those moved to the top?

I checked Joel Whitburn's Pop Memories 1890-1954; it agrees with the 1912 release date. Victor started using this "batwing" label in 1914, so my copy is just a later issue, probably after 1919.

The catalog number (Victor 17164) seems to place this record in 1912, if you compare the other records with nearby catalog numbers and their release dates.

I'm confused by the release date on this one. http://www.78discography.com/vic17000.html has this in a block of records recorded (and supposedly released) around 1912. http://victor.library.ucsb.edu/index.php/object/detail/11598/Victor_17164 gives a release date of 11/1923, but it also lists two different released masters for side A - one from 1912, the other from 1919 - with the same matrix number. So is the release date 1912 or 1923? Or was it originally released in 1912, then re-released in 1923 with the newer A side master?
