lorangrecords SUBS 22nd Jan 2018		I'm trying to go through this 1330+ entries, so I don't have the time for so much research, but it's a good idea.



xiphophilos 17th Jan 2018		You are right, the lowest matrix number is not always the A side. But in cases like this label where A and B sides are not identified, I doubt that SMDB is guided by anything other than the whim of the person creating the entry in determining which side they list first and which second. The only way to know for sure which side was the more heavily promoted "A side" back when the record was released would be to look up contemporary Swedish newspapers and see if they contain any Teco ads that show us which side the Teco people themselves listed first. I've done this occasionally for US issues from the 1920s with The Talking Machine World, but don't think I have access to Swedish newspaper archives (but maybe you do? - See under dagstidningar). In the absence of checking contemporary sources, I think it's a good rule of thumb to take the vocal as the A and the instrumental as the B side.



lorangrecords SUBS 17th Jan 2018		It's not always the lowest matr# is side A. According to SMDB, it's so in this case. It's no big deal, but I just mentioned it.



xiphophilos 14th Jan 2018		What makes you think the track order could be wrong? The vocal is on A, the instrumental on B, plus the track order corresponds with the matrix numbers.
