xiphophilos 8th Jul 2023		These paste-over labels were used for imports of Victor records from the U.S. to the U.K. There are similar paste-over labels covering up the Nipper trademark on His Master's Voice records imported from the U.K. or U.S. to Germany. They all have to do with the copyright on the Nipper trademark and the trademarked slogan "His Master's Voice". Victor owned the copyright for both trademarks only in the United States; in the UK and most of Europe, the trademarks were reserved for use by the British The Gramophone Co. Ltd. In Germany, the trademark was owned by the Deutsche Grammophon AG. Here is a list of records with these stickers.
