Recorded in Rio, November 1937.

Two very successful hit tunes in march rhythm style from the carnival of 1938 with vocals by Almirante, studio orchestra and choir accompaniment.

Original issue: Odeon 11.550 (with reference to S. Bountman, musical director, shown on the label).
Another contemporary issue is the Chilean green-labelled Odeon 194850 with the A-side shown as Yes! Nós Tenemos Bananas...

xiphophilos 4th Mar 2019		A side: Yes, nós temos bananas, Bananas pra dar e vender. Banana, menina, tem vitamina, Banana engorda e faz crescer. Vai para a França o café, (pois é!) Para o Japão o algodão. (pois não). Pro mundo inteiro, homem ou mulher, Bananas para quem quiser. Mate para o Paraguai não vai, Ouro do bolso da gente não sai, Somos da crise, se ela vier, Bananas para quem quiser. Translation: Yes, we do have bananas, bananas to give and to sell. Banana, girl, has vitamins, banana makes you fat and grow. To France goes the coffee, – Yeah! – To Japan the cotton. – Of course! – For the entire world, men and women, Bananas go to whoever wants them. (I'm less sure about the last stanza's translation:) Mate tea does not go to Paraguay, Money in the people's wallet, there's none. We are in crisis. Whenever it comes, Bananas to everyone who wants.
