walkinginmyshoes 13th Mar 2018		Yep, my bad, it has a 2. I see now it’s a “black” Victor with 5 digits. I’ve since caught on to the Victor numbering system. I have a few discrepancies tho that I have been saving to upload last. I may need some help figuring out. Also I have a box set. Not sure how to upload.

xiphophilos 12th Mar 2018		Is there a little "2" in the runout of the B side, walkinginmyshoes, maybe in the 9 o'clock position? That would confirm the take number. In any case, your copy, which is a repress from ca. 1938-1940, illustrates how popular this record was. It was continuously available for 15 years before it was deleted from the Victor catalog in 1940. The first release in 1925 appeared on a Batwing label.



slholzer 12th Mar 2018		I have added the more precise release date provided by Bolig's Victor Black Label Discography, 18000/19000 Series. Per Bolig, the arrangement on Side A is by Lawrence Brown, on Side-B by Harry T. Burleigh. I note that Rust, in his Victor Master Book Vol. 2, has Side B as take 4 but had changed his mind by the time the 2nd edition of the Complete Entertainment Discography was published, in favor of take 2. The ODP and Bolig agree that it is take 2.
