More likely there was no activity at the New York studio (presumably on East 24th Street) between the 13th and 17th.

One wonders why the recordings with consecutive matrix numbers (and both take 1 to booth) were supposedly recorded 4 days apart, on Saturday, Oct. 13 and on Wed., Oct. 17. Did RCA Victor record on Saturdays? Or are both Wed., Oct. 17 recordings?

"Dig You Later's" references to the horrific fire bombings of Tokyo seem heartless, yet the song is a great hodgepodge of contemporary slang, and Perry Como and Martha Stewart performed it with pizzazz in the movie "Doll Face" (released Dec. 31, 1945):

(starting at 54:16; "Here Comes Heaven Again" is at 58:43)

On the record, the dialog is distributed slightly differently, in a way that, in my opinion, makes less sense:

[Chorus:] It's always fair weather,
When hep cats get together!
And every time they meet,
Here's the way you'll hear them greet – (greet!)
A hubba-hubba-hubba! [Girl:] Hello Dad!

[Man:] Well, a hubba-hubba-hubba, I just got back!
[Chorus:] Well, a hubba-hubba-hubba! [Girl:] Let's shoot some breeze!
[Chorus:] Say, whatever happened to the Japanese?
[Man:] Hmm, a hubba-hubba-hubba, haven't you heard?
[Chorus:] A hubba-hubba-hubba! [Girl:] Slip me the word!

[Man:] I got it from a guy who was in the know.
It was mighty smoky over Tokyo!
A friend of mine in a B-29 dropped another load for luck,
As he flew away, he was heard to say,
[Chorus:] "A hubba-hubba-hubba, yuk yuk!"

[Man:] Well, I gotta go a-fishin'
[Chorus:] That's okay. We'll give you our permission, and we'll say,
A hubba, hubba, hubba, on your way.
[Man:] And I will dig you later in the USA.

Ta dah dah dee dee dee ta dee dee
[Girl:] Ta dah dah hi hi hi tee dee dee.

[Man:] A hubba, hubba, hubba, I just got in.
[Girl:] A hubba, hubba, hubba, well, give me some skin!
[Man:] Well, you're lookin' mighty purdy Miss Curly Locks.
[Girl:] I'm the grand old girly of the bobby socks.

[Man:] Hmm, yuttata, yuttata, yuttaton, you talk big.
[Girl:] Well, I'm the fresh tomata you can't dig
[Chorus:] Let's have a heart to heart-a and you'll decide
[Girl:] I'm a chick what's really on the solid side.

[Man:] You knock me flat, you're the kind of a cat
Makes me wanta blow my top 'Till the end of time'
[Girls screams:] (Aah!)

[Man:] And if you feel that way, tell me what you say?
[Chorus:] A hubba, hubba, hubba, muk, muk.
Well, now you're really talkin', you're no square.
You can't be from Weehawken
[Man:] Hmm, hmm, Delaware.

[Girl:] You got a line of jive that's really zoot.
[Man:] Well, I'll dig you later, baby, you're all root.

[Chorus:] You're the kind of cat, wears a sharp cravat
And you really know your stuff. [(movie:) say, you really lower yourself.]
[Man:] If you feel that way, tell me what you say?
Hubba, hubba, hubba. [Girl:] Ruff, ruff!

I get the long little mousy with the great big eyes,
But if you're lookin' for a spousey, why, you're just my size.
[Girl:] Mister, how you love to blubber with that knock-out squawk.
[Chorus:] Seems your lips are made of rubber every time you talk.

[Man:] Oh, no, no, no, hubba, hubba
[Chorus:] Yes, yes, yes, hubba, hubba
[Man:] Bop, bop, bop, hubba, hubba

[Man:] A, what you know?
[Chorus:] A, what you know?
[Man:] A, what you say?
[Chorus:] A what you say?
[Man & Girl:] I say I'll dig you later, baby, in the USA.

. . . to say nothing of the Andrews Sisters' "Rum And Coca-Cola."

I always raise a bit of a chuckle with friends when I remark about how raunchy a lot of Doris Day's records were. "A Guy Is A Guy", etc. After giving a spin for them, their jaw usually drops and they ask "How the h**l did those ever get played on the radio?"

The A side lyrics are a bit dodgy. Did this get a release in Japan?
