Thanks, 78-Ron, for uploading images to four of the records that I added yesterday. Hopefully the still missing images will be contributed in the near future.
Seven other Bob Wills records added by you yesterday were all reissues, confirming my yesterday's proposition that all original Bob Wills 78s on Columbia have already been added to 45worlds 78 RPM. Actually, the vast majority of the Columbia 37,000 series and 20,000 series (up to 20,425) were reissues.
I had to correct your entered release dates of the reissues though. Most important, there were no Columbia records between (roughly) 1935 and Sep 1939, when the Columbia label (and its OKeh sub-label in place of Vocalion) was revived by CBS.
Moreover, there were no Bob Wills records on Columbia before Oct 1945 (except Columbia 36593 in May 1942, see there). Country & Western (then Folk) records before that date were relegated to the cheaper OKeh sub-label (35 cents per 10" 78 rpm record compared to 50 cents for a Columbia 78). The OKeh label, however, was discontinued in mid-1945.
After having filled the gaps in the Vocalion and OKeh discographies of Bob Wills And His Texas Playboys yesterday, I seem to have added their last missing original Columbia 78rpm records (all other Columbia 78s apparently are reissues):
Fat Boy Rag / You Should Have Thought Of That Before - Columbia 37824 - Sep 1947
Liberty / The Kind Of Love I Can't Forget - Columbia 37926 - Oct 1947
A Sweet Kind Of Love / Cowboy Stomp - Columbia 37988 - Nov 1947
Texarkana Baby / New Texas Playboy Rag - Columbia 38179 - Apr 1948
The Devil Ain't Lazy / Bob Wills Schottische - Columbia 20458 - Jul 1948
Good Time Cake-Walk / That Hot Lick Fiddlin' Man - Columbia 20531 - Jan 1949
Goodbye, Liza Jane / I'm Feelin' Bad - Columbia 20555 - Mar 1949
Misery / You're There - Columbia 20582 - May 1949
W.B.lbl, can you possibly check and complete my release date submissions? Thanks anyway.
