The A side is a parody of "The Wedding of Lili Marlene", which in turn is a reference to the popular WWII-era song.

According to the sources, June Carter was born on June 23, 1929 and her first recordings with Homer And Jethro were made on May 17, 1949 in the RCA Victor Studio No. 1 in New York City, so she was actually 19 when those recordings were made. These sides here, however, were recorded on October 12, 1949, in the RCA Victor Studio in Chicago, after her 20th birthday.

Moreover, June had played on the radio with her sisters Helen and Anita and her mother Maybelle since she was 13.

17? I thought she was 20 - 17 would have actually been the age of her future hubby Johnny Cash when this was recorded and released.
