This is a curiosity I had never even heard about. Thanks for sharing! I've added the info above, including that Al Bowlly sings on one of the tracks.

One bit of information from the ODP is the putative identity of the so-called Novelty Orchestra, at least on the A-side.The ODP assigns this recording to Ray Noble AHO. Abrams was apparently confused as to the locations of the two tunes he identified and put them on separate sides, when in fact they are on the same side, thus he may have assumed both sides were Noble's band. He could still be correct, as Noble led the Gramophone Co.s house band in Hayes, Middlesex in 1931, but I suppose that remains to be seen. Perhaps the answer may be found somewhere in Rust's British Dance Band book.

This is the Victor Puzzle record. There are three tunes (tracks) on each side. They start at different parts of the beginning grooves. The idea here was that when you played the record a second time and then a third time you would hear three different tunes or songs. You could hear the same song two or three times in a row but eventually you would get to hear all three songs. Thus all the tunes are only about 1 minute each.

This record is not listed in DAHR. It is listed in the ODP but the info is not nearly complete or accurate.
