Sorting out this number, its album and its predecessor versions is probably too much for me right now. I will say that my database has several versions of this number, including variants with and without A/B side designations, variants with changes in fonts, and of course, album versions and non-album single versions. The album stayed in print long enough, also, to see a complete label re-design moving from the illustrated style to the more modernistic arched Decca over a star logo, divided from the rest of the label by a white bar. Perhaps I will return to this one day....

Oh, before I leave, please note that the label shown in BigBadBluesMan's video clip is a variant of the one illustrated. Note the different fonts used to print the album side number 3 and the re-arrangement of the artist credits into an inverted triangle below the title.

The catalogue and matrix numbers clearly point to this being a 1947 release - has been duly noted. (The 1942 matrix # for "White Christmas" was DLA 3009, recorded 29 May 1942; the metal parts for that version became so worn after the 1946 Christmas season that it warranted this new recording that was featured on all releases thereafter {on 78, 45, LP and CD}.)
