xiphophilos 6th Nov 2020		These are the actual Original Memphis Five with "Red Hot Mamma" on Columbia 155-D. And I am sorry to say, but they do sound much hotter than this Silvertone record:

Mike Gann 2nd Nov 2020		I'm not sure about the evidence, but you and I both know that record labels would often use the same pseudonym for two different groups. I will see if I can find out more.



xiphophilos 2nd Nov 2020		Brian Rust in "Jazz and Ragtime Records", vol 1, page 685, claimed that the B side is actually by the Original Memphis Five, originally released on Emerson 10782 (matrix 42689-1-2). Does anyone know what the evidence for this is? What about the numbers 5400-A and 5400-B that appear in the runouts and look like the catalog number of an earlier release?
