 Keith Loyd was an announcer and disc jockey first at KGNC in Amarillo, TX (ca. 1950-1954), cf. Billboard Jul 15, 1950, p. 60 and Billboard, Aug. 15, 1953, p. 36), then at KVOP in Plainview, TX (as "Cousin Keith") (1955).

Billboard Jul 15, 1950, p. 60 reveals that he had his own band, "Boys of the Golden West", but on the recordings he did with that band under the name Keith Loyd, they were called "Sons of the Golden West", e.g., on Time 116 and Time 117.

Under the name Cousin Keith Loyd, he recorded "Dangerous Crossing" on Royal Records 100. Billboard, Sep. 3, 1955, p. 45 spells his last name "Lloyd", but I suspect it was Loyd.

 Composer Keith Loyd has appeared on Red Sovine records with his last name variously spelled Loyd and Lloyd. I do not know which is the correct spelling.
