mister_tmg 22nd May 2016		I did some Googling around and as far as I can tell there was a Chinese 78 of this, same catalogue number, without "Made in India" at the bottom. It's pretty scarce though and any issue of this 78 seems to go for a lot of money. Interestingly, Miss Hue Lee is still alive in her mid-90s. She recorded this number in Shanghai in 1940, I believe. Auction link Interesting also that it seems to be another 'B' side which became more famous than the original 'A'! If it's correct that she recorded this on 22 December 1940, I think the release date should be 1941 here. [Date fixed. Mod.]



Redpunk ● 13th May 2016		Possibly more likely this was pressed in India for sale in Hong Kong and British settlements in Shanghai etc. So far the only Chinese 78 on the site is one produced by RCA Victor in Shanghai but there must be others out there that survived the destruction of the Cultural Revolution.
