"Mr. Five by Five" (Don Raye and Gene DePaul, 1942) was an homage to the Count Basie Orchestra's wonderful vocalist Jimmy Rushing, who gained that nickname by being "five feet tall and five feet wide".

The song was featured in the 1942 Universal Pictures movie "Behind the Eight Ball" (performed by Grace McDonald).
