Lyrics:
I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and Fla-Ga-La-Pa is his name.
I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and he calls me the same.
'Cause I met him in Fla.,
Kissed him in Ga.,
Married in La.,
Settled in Pa.
I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and Fla-Ga-La-Pa is his name.

He's got a little shack in Punxsutawney, Punxsutawney, P-A.
Where he lives and he dreams of Bogalusa, Bogalusa, L-A.
And when he dreams of Bogalusa
And it takes him back to Macon, G-A,
And Macon reminds him of Jacksonville, Jacksonville, F-L-A.

I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and Fla-Ga-La-Pa is his name.
I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and he calls me the same.
'Cause I met him in Fla.,
Kissed him in Ga.,
Married in La.,
Settled in Pa.
I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and Fla-Ga-La-Pa is his name.
I call my Papa Fla-Ga-La-Pa, and Fla-Ga-La-Pa is his name.

Probably not an immortal song, but it has the distinction, as Marv Goldberg writes, "that it's probably the only R&B song to mention Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania" (later famous as the location of the Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell movie "Groundhog Day").

There is a more up-tempo version by the Nat King Cole Trio, and I've added the lyrics as sung by Ann Moore here because the version all the online lyrics sites provide has nothing to do with the actual song Nat King Cole performs:
