Meanwhile, W.B.lbl has edited the release date of this record (30 Dec 1946), confirming that Columbia 37212 (the scheduled 37205) came out four weeks before the real Columbia 37205 (27 Jan 1947).

Wrongly announced in Billboard as Columbia 37205 and probably released before that actual number (containing "There's A Big Rock In The Road" b/w "I'm Gonna Be Boss From Now On").

"Cotton Eyed Joe", credited to Bob Wills and Tommy Duncan on the record label (the Billboard reviewer believed it), was in fact a much older song, predating the American Civil War. We can be sure that Wills and Duncan at least knew the version by Adolph Hofner and His San Antonians, recorded only a few years before in 1941 and released on the then label of the Texas Playboys (OKeh 06184). It is still a very popular song, a version by the Swedish band Rednex reached #1 in the charts of most European countries in 1994 (#25 USA).
