Later Bridgeport pressings were also witness to change in the text below the 'COLUMBIA' logohead on top, as evidenced here.

My image of "Too Fat Polka" (1466416) is hidden, but it is still a label variant of the Kings Mill pressing that LaurenceD submitted (433647), because the 2 lines of text under the Columbia logo are not as wide as the Columbia logo itself. LaurenceD's flip side clearly shows the smaller text, like my flip side, but both his images are clearer than mines!! Still, my "Too Fat Polka" should be unhidden until someone comes along with a better photo/scan of it... ☺
[edit: agreed and unhidden - LD]

This was essentially to this era, what Joe Tex' "Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman)" would be about three decades later . . .

I've had this 78 for many years, since I was a child (I'm now 53) I always loved this song, but it played pretty lousy. However, since I bought a new turntable and a dedicated mono 78 cartridge, it sounds 100 times better than I remember. Lots of ticks, but pretty clear throughout. I LOVE this song.

SOOO politically incorrect in this day and age - that's what makes it even better! :)

Wondered where Chas 'n' Dave got their little medley infill from. I doubt that Arthur Godfrey's was the original version, probably doing music hall rounds before 1948.

The second set of labels {Images #433647 & 433648} is from Kings Mills, OH.

Bridgeport, CT pressings had the A side subtitles divided amongst two lines rather than three, orchestra director credit set in 8 point Erbar Bold Condensed (as opposed to 7 point Gothic No. 4 here), matrix numbers set in 7 point Gothic No. 4 (rather than No. 1 on this set), and cat. # set in 14 point Gothic Condensed No. 1 (instead of 14 point Erbar Bold Condensed as seen here). There were also no spaces in-between hyphens and songwriter names, and Godfrey's name was slightly more open-spaced. Despite Kings Mills' using many Bridgeport fonts, I can spot the differences a mile away.
