xiphophilos ● 26th Oct 2020		Fellow moderator W.B.lbl has just responded to my question about the pressing plants and fonts of these two late Columbia label variants. With his permission, I would like to share what he has to say about these typefaces because I'm sure others will find it very useful too: "{Images #1130940 & 1130939} are indeed a Bridgeport pressing, label typesetting in-house." [that is, catalog number set in 14 point Condensed No. 1 font]. "As for {Image #1962161}, that would be a Hollywood pressing with label fonts from The Bert-Co Press. The typefaces (all Linotype) are: - 12 point Metroblack No. 2 (cat. #) - 7 point Spartan Medium (matrix #) - 14 point Gothic Condensed No. 2 (song title) - 6 point Gothic Condensed No. 4B (writers, orchestra info; more compact version of 6 point Gothic Condensed No. 4 which Bridgeport used for many years, but more on 45's) - 10 point Spartan Medium (artist)."
