xiphophilos 10th Sep 2015		The Lyraphone Co. of New York produced records between 1917 and 1921 (source). George M. Cohan's "Over there" was a patriotic hit of 1917. The song was covered at least eleven times that year (source). "Captain Betty" was published as early as 1914 by Lionel Baxter. That name seems to have been an alias for composer John Stepan Zamecnik (1872-1953) (source). In 1917, this song was also recorded by the Centro Marimba Band on Victor 18292.
