Thanks for the link to the 1934. For a major hit it is hard to find. To me the 1937 rerecording does not sound as genuine, tho more polished. Where to get the 1934?
B-side video below is labelled as the 1934 original recording but shows the B-side label image posted above (when played). Is it such recording? Is the video the correct version on this disc? This video sounds like an earlier recording.
Decca abandoned marking its sides with A and B from August 1949 to mid‐October 1949. From October 1949 to ca. August 1952, the company used a star symbol next to the matrix number to indicate B sides. So the label pictures above represent a repress (cf. http://www.friktech.com/labels/DeccaLabelography.pdf).
This issue was released with labels that had no side designations, as illustrated, and with labels that had A and B designations. "Cool Water" was the A side. "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" was the B.
