xiphophilos 29th May 2017		Ernie Felice (1922-2015) was born Ernest Charles Filice. This is one of his earliest recordings with Capitol where he still uses his birth name. A few months later, he already appears as Felice. After some experience touring with a San Francisco-based band, The Four Sharps, he joined an entertainment unit of the Air Corps in WW2. After the war, Benny Goodman had him join his Sextet, and in 1947, with Benny's encouragement, he founded his own group and signed a contract with Capitol Records. (http://www.erniefelice.com/)
