 Hi xiphophilos, you're right, the video of "A Good Man Is Hard To Find" (that you've meanwhile rated 10.0 as well as the A-side of Decca 5070, "St. Louis Blues") is not available for me in Germany. Anyway there's another fantastic number of the Brownies here:



The most popular recording of the bawdy "Somebody's Been Using That Thing" had been made by the Hokum Boys in 1929, and there were several other recordings of it at the time. Anyway the Brownies transformed it into a much faster, highly original Western swing number (featuring the electric steel guitar of Bob Dunn and the twin fiddles of Cecil Brower and Cliff Bruner) that is hard to resist. The words are impossible to transcribe for me, but it seems that Milton Brown softened the salacious verses of the original hokum blues somehow.
