 Both tracks were recorded in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 1, 1928. The Ⓦ before the matrix number indicates an electrical recording made with the Western Electric Electrical Recording System. The number 2 in the B side runout denotes take 2; on the A side, take 3 was used, so I deduced the runout info for the A side. I also switched the original A and B sides based on the matrix numbers; it could well be, of course, that "Aloha Oe" is listed first in contemporary record catalogues, and then I'd have to revert the switch.

"Aloha Oe": mp3.

Both tracks are listed as "instrumentals" in DAHR when, in fact, they both feature a beautiful soprano voice accompanied by a chorus group. I assume the singer was Lena Machado who served as the Royal Hawaiian Band's featured singer from 1925-1931 (off and on later as well).

I Hope Someone Can tell me when this recording was made .
Have got a bit over excited, over this recording . Anyone Know if it is an pre electrical recording. Most grateful for any info.
