xiphophilos 6th Nov 2015		This Columbia Fleur-de-Lis label is an issue made for export, pressed between 1906-1908 (cf. Michael W. Sherman & Kurt R. Nauck III, An Illustrated History of the Columbia 78 rpm Record Label 1901-1958, New Orleans 1998, p. 25, slightly later label than their Fig. B.fl).



xiphophilos 24th Sep 2015		Detail scan of B side shows (much enlarged) sticker on the back that depicts Columbia's Bridgeport factory. Velino M. Preza copyrighted his "Homenaje á Mérida" (two-step marcha) with the Library of Congress on May 28, 1908 (Source). He acquired the Mexican copyright for his song even before, between Sept. 1 - Nov. 30, 1907 (Source). A version performed by the Banda de Policía de México was recorded for Victor as early as Jul. 9, 1907, and released as Victor 98193 in June 1908 (DAHR).
