xiphophilos 6th Aug 2018		This record belonged to the last batch of purple-label 10-inch records, Victor 60142-44, that came out in late 1916 (M. W. Sherman, Collector's Guide to Victor Records, 2nd ed., page 86). The black label represents a repress from ca. 1918-1923.

slholzer 21st Dec 2017		My photo database includes a purple labeled Batwing version of this disc, which I believe was earlier than the illustrated black-label version. If I am wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. Rust's Complete Entertainment Discography 2d Ed. lists Vi 45146, Vi 70107 and Vi 55105 as other releases of this track.
