 Praguefrank (see Jock_Girl's first link) actually says:
Bullet 657 Empty Arms / Lipstick Trail - 07-48 (the number on label was printed as 647, correct 657 was on dead wax)
This is according to the comment of 78-Ron, who as I know owns all the records he adds here, even when he doesn't show it.

I have even found more to confirm the misprint on the labels here. This record was listed in Billboard's Advance Folk Records Releases in the June 19, 1948 issue, page 43, with this number (and a mysterious "T-" prefix). In the same issue was a review of Bullet 654 (Smiley Burnette and His Rancheros). So we can assume with some certainty that this one was actually meant as Bullet 657, as entered by Ron-78, though not from 1947 but from June 1948, as listed by Praguefrank. (Actually the Christmas song of Merl Lindsay/Merle Lindsey fits much better the presumable release month of the original #647 in November 1947.)

I have made the appropriate corrections, adding the scheduled cat# in brackets.

 Well, now I've seen photos of two different Bullet #647s. I think this one is still properly here, because it is what it is, but the question as to whether this record was meant to be some other number (i.e. 657) and whether it ever bore that number is legitimately raised again. There is a gap in my own Bullet list at its alleged proper spot. I would like to know what fills it, if, in fact, anything does.

If you wonder what I'm talking about, look for another Bullet 647 entry under Merle Lindsey and the Oklahoma Night Riders. The titles are Old Timey Christmas b/w Safety Pin Rag.

 I am reverting this back to 647 to reflect the label copy. The website at http://countrydiscoghraphy2.blogspot.ca/2013/07/leon-payne.html says 657 but this appears to be in error. All other sites show it as 647 .. for example: http://rateyourmusic.com/release/single/leon_payne/empty_arms___lipstick_trail/ as well as listings on eBay.

 I am curious what is the tip-off to this error. Do you have a correct copy of 657, a correct copy of 647 possibly both.
