xiphophilos 27th Jun 2019		My guess would be that the old stampers were worn out from constant repressing, and so the Brunswick recording engineers decided a dubbing would offer better quality then trying to produce yet one more stamper from the old masters. That's all speculation, of course.



jago125 27th Jun 2019		Both sides of these 1929 recordings are pressed from dubbed masters on this 1934 American Brunswick re-issue. Does anyone know why they didn't (or couldn't) use the original master stampers? It wasn't for the sake of adding run-in grooves because there are none. The English and French issues are also made with these dubs.
