GS , thats interesting playing that vid as that C sounds flat to me. Given a lot of later double sided Columbia's were marked as 80rpm, would that be their earlier recordings , or an instruction to play at 80 to bring a pitch recorded at 78 up to the more modern (was the change 1930s for orchestras - 1950s for brass bands ?)
Actually the arrangement Clara sings I have not heard before (or is it the Alto part on its own from a harmony arrangement ?

The label does not mention a speed, but it displays the key signature as C. At the time of release the pitch of notes was about a semitone lower than today's standard pitch. If the phonograph in the "Brass Band" video is set for 78RPM, we can conclude that these early Columbia records were recorded at 78RPM.

The Dame Clara Butt artist entry already links the various titles (Miss,Madame, Dame, etc) into a single listing. Her previous titles (eg Madame) are also available as individual listings, and these refer to the main listing. Perhaps our artist title at the date of recording should be used? One of the mods has already changed this record from Dame to Madame.

tricky. where an artist changes title should a new entry be made and discographies linked, even though it is the same person ? One thing is that we write these after the latest events and commonly the idea of Dame Clara Butt is very much in the British psyche.

@The Vinyl Emporium: Don't confuse the pressing date with the release date. Later pressings would have 'DAME' on the label. Seems like you have an earlier label version - which would have had 'MADAME' so pre 1920? Image promoted

The information is incorrect, Clara Butt was appointed a Dame in 1920, so it is not possible the record is from 1915, I have the same record with Madame Clara Butt on it, SAME CODE SAME EVEYYTHING APART FOM HER TITLE

This seems to have been released twice under this catalogue number, once with brass band and once with piano accompaniment
Piano version

Brass Band version - this video seems to be playing at 78rpm while this record is 80rpm

There is yet another version, on 12" from 1913, HMV 03179
