A1,A2, - Duke Ellington And His Orchestra.
B2, - Kid Ory And His Band.
A Side recordings from 1939. Duke Ellington speaks a few words to the soldiers before the music starts.
Very interesting, Twitster, and I've also found two other record labels from the 1940s with a Kid Ory recording: Decca MU 60089 (Cl. Williams, A.J. Piron), from France, Brunswick 82739 (Williams, Peron [sic]), from Germany.
Good stuff fixbutte. Funny. The Dutch site never came up when I was initially trying to track all of this mess down. Just to add a little more confusion for everyone to wade through, I find it interesting to note just a few of the variations in the discography related to this title:
November, 1928, Brunswick 4181, Monk Hazel and His Beinville Roof Orchestra, High Society (Uncredited Composition), as printed on the label
July 3, 1929, Okeh 8706, Clarence Williams' Washboard Band, High Society (Piron), as printed on the label
July 13, 1933, Vocalion 25010-A, Clarence Williams and His Orchestra, High Society (Steele, Melrose), as printed on the label.

Re "High Society"
The tune was undoubtedly written by Porter Steele (copyrighted in 1901), but
(from www.hurricanebrassband.nl): Although a lawyer, Porter Steele did not renew his copyright of "High Society" when it expired in 1929 and it passed into the Public Domain.
"High Society" (by A J Piron) was copyrighted by Clarence Williams in May 1929. This is the Porter Steele composition.
"High Society" by Porter Steele and Walter Melrose (with 32 bar new melody strains A and B by Walter Melrose) was copyrighted by the Melrose brothers in Dec 1931.
Clarence Williams and A J Piron copyrighted an arrangement of the 'trio' part with words, of "High Society" in Aug 1933. ...
As said before, other (probably earlier) recordings by Kid Ory were credited to "Williams, Piron", so the copyright at the time of this recording is rather unclear. Anyway, there are no credits on the record label.
Hi Twitster. I've just rejected your missing data for the B side composers (Porter Steele, Walter Melrose) as they are not on the label. In addition, other Kid Ory recordings of this song indicate different composer credits (Clarence Williams, Armand Piron).
