It means your copy uses the same take 2, but is pressed from a slightly earlier stamper. What is the label printing code (the two-letter code just below the red part of the banner)?

What difference does it make if mine is stamped "2-F-18"?

Okay, then this copy is a copy of take 2 after all. The rest of the code probably identifies the stamper, but I haven't yet found a source that decodes these letter and number combinations.

Thank you for the explanation, xiphophilos. The text stamped/etched on the label is probably "2-F-19", although it might be "2-F-79".

Columbia 33018-D is the double-sided version of this record, with "Mattinata" on the flip side. Your record is the earlier, single-sided version.

One difference between the two versions is that your record seems to be a copy of take 3, not take 2.
I can't really read the number/letter sequence stamped into the label, but it seems to start with 3- (i.e., take 3) some letter - 79 (or is it a 19?).

The Columbia Master Book Discography: Principal U.S. matrix series. 1910-1924 by Tim Brooks, Brian Rust - page 262, shows this matrix (78097) with title and artist as per this entry with a date of 1918-10-04 and indicates that the catalogue number is 33018-D.

This page, library.ucsb.edu, shows the catalogue number as Columbia 33018-D.

78019 is in the dead wax. 2-F-19 is stamped/etched on the label itself. The only thing resembling a catalogue number on the label is "78019".
