Side R: mx. 3707-H was recorded in New York, NY in January 1921. Earlier recordings (takes A, B & C) were made on April 14, 1915 and used on earlier pressings of Edison 82088.

Side L: mx. 3973-A was recorded in New York, NY on July 15, 1915, New York, NY.

Coupling date: 9/11/1915. This record was originally issued on an Edison disc with an embossed label in December 1915. This version, with a re-recording of "Song of India" and this style of paper label and lacking a pressing date code, was almost certainly made between January, 1923 and September 1, 1923.

xiphophilos 15th Nov 2022		We have the same situation sometimes with Columbia records from the 1910s and 1920s. The stampers of particularly popular records wore out, and one or both sides had to be re-recorded but were then issued under the same catalog number as the original. In the case of the Columbia records, we usually add all of them to the same entry and then explain in the Notes what's going on in terms of the different variants.
cyeaman SUBS ● 13th Nov 2022		I'm not sure how we handle examples like this one and Edison 83059 that I entered earlier. Both of these records were originally released in 1915 or 1916, but Anna Case re-recorded selections in 1921 and these re-recordings were used on later pressings of these records. I assume we treat them as unique releases and estimate release dates?
