Jazzdisco.org offers the following solution:
• Mercury 8954 Johnny Hodges - Globetrotter / Gentle Breeze
• Mercury 8958 Johnny Hodges - You Blew Out The Flame In My Heart / Globetrotter
Additional links there show that "Gentle Breeze" (mx: 518-2) and "You Blew Out The Flame In My Heart" (mx: 477-2, actually C-477-3 according to the label, see here) are not the same recording, in contrast to the incorrect data on the Online Discographical Project. On the other hand, "Globetrotter" (C-517-3) was apparently reissued.
Both records were actually released. Mercury 8954 was reviewed under Hot Jazz in Billboard of October 20, 1951, p. 80. Mercury 8958 was mentioned among the new R&B records in Billboard of February 16, 1952, p. 35.
Here's a mystery, to me at least. Maybe somebody out there has the answer. This disc is reported as Mercury 8954. No photos, but I assume it exists as shown. The disc on BigBadBluesMan's clip is 8958. I can see it, so I know it exists. Look them up on Online Discographical Project - they're both there. Same artist, same titles 3 numbers apart. The only photo I have shows no indication that the disc is part of a multi-number grouping, a la Jazz At The Philharmonic. So what's happening here?
