| | That's great, Alan. Looks like you'll make several people happy with that. Can you share some basic biographical data about your grandfather beyond what I wrote below? Your grandfather and his music clearly still have fans, and they would probably be interested in learning about more about him. |

Alan Henderson 3rd Jan 2025
| | Hello everyone. This is Alan Henderson. I am a grandson of Max Henderson. I recently was able to get a copy of "Smiling" Max Henderson And His Ranch Hands, "Rickitick" b/w "You And Your Careless Love" by Warren Wood. It's been the only one that I have been able to find. My cousin also was able to get a copy of "You Left A Tear In My Eyes" b/w "From Someone Who Cares". I will see if we both can post these songs on YouTube so all can view and hear them. Thanks and God bless you all. |

| | Thank you xiphophilos. I still hope to find a copy, I remember him signing when I was younger. Wish I could have a copy to share with my children and family. My search continues. |

| | @Dracus: These records were probably only distributed in the Detroit area, in the 100-mile corridor between Toledo, Ohio, where the Serenade label was located, and Flint, Michigan, where Max Henderson worked for radio station WTAC from around 1948. They may never have sold more than a few hundred copies, many of which will have been discarded by now.
Based on the fact that none of these records are listed on Discogs and no one seems to have sold them on Ebay in the last 10 years or so, you'd be really lucky to find any one of them. The two collectors on this site who own them have been collecting C&W music for decades, and my guess would be, given that one of them is in Germany, that they found them at specialized 78rpm auctions. |

| | Does anyone have any clue or idea where I could buy any 78s from Max Henderson and his Ranch Hands? |

| | Billboard, Aug. 20, 1949, page 31 mentions that Smilin' Max Henderson "has four masters with Serenade label, the Toledo diskery." I assume these are the songs that were released as Serenade 900-903. Release date is probably 1949 then. Henderson also copyrighted his song "Rickitick" on Dec. 15, 1949.(source) |
