 And that makes sense, as a rule of thumb, and is, as far as I know, common discographical practice. That said, though, when one looks at the listings in TMW, the side that's listed first often turns out to be the one with the higher matrix number (the one more recently recorded).

 Thanks, Xiphophilos. When the sides are undeterminable to me, I usually list the A side as the side with the lowest matrix #.

 You were right to hesitate here, Bob; the record came out in late December 1918. A two-month delay between label printing date (here Oct. 1918) and release is very typical too.

DAHR lists the record as a 1919 release because The Talking Machine World announces it for Jan. 1919. By the way, TMW shows that the Irene Farber And Lewis James track (higher matrix number) was supposed to be the A side. I've switched the sides accordingly.

 Due to the label printing date code JY (Oct. 1918), and the A side label being from "Ziegfeld Follies 1918", I have not added the release date listed in DAHR as 1919. This record could have been released as early as Oct. 1918.
