 According to Rust, the A- prefix with 5 or fewer digits indicates the target audience was German or French. Such records were often pressed from different takes that did not have a vocal chorus. Clearly that was not the way they went in this case, as the vocal is in distinct English. The record is a nice example of hot Nichols, although it is showing distinct tendencies to fall behind the times for the last days of 1930. That would not necessarily have been a drawback on the Continent, however, where hot music was still getting itself established.
