| | On value
https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/17311 apparently less than a dollar at a guess.
Audio here from A.L,2059 (Which I think is the Czech series of numbering for some european issues. I think Kimbozw catelogue is putting A/B in alphabetical order as the YT has Cavalleria as the A side as Graham and I had put on entry (following matrix convention when in doubt).
Both staple tracks from Radio 2's missed Your 100 Best Tunes on a Sunday Night. |

| | JJ interested in the idea of some repressings having lower audio quality, what would be the masters that would be re-created from on later HMV and similar generally be sourced from ? Like some of the EMI group EPs Quality did not always seem to be their number one priority. |

| | Yep, this pairing probably one of the most popular Classical pairings, and the EP format had not totally taken off.
Strange that Bodston's images have Meccolino and BIEM copyright stamps, where the earlier? ones have the angel for non-copyright compositions. |

| | Added label variation with DTP tax code for Dec. 1950.
Was this 1926 recording still being produced in the 1950's? |

| | The HMV I just added B 2361 has labels of 3 3/8 and 2 7/8 but I feel sure that is due to the use of earlier labels for the side which has the earlier matrix number. This would be necessary as they seem to re-use the earlier pressing matrix which of course has a smaller run-out diameter and has noticably lower quality audio at a lower level
Incidentally, the 4-272 side is marginally longer at 3:10 vs. 3:00 |

| | I've been scanning 12" HMVs, and I've noticed a couple more small labels. Now that I'm paying attention, I see that the small labelled ones do indeed seem to have longer tracks. |

| | I don't think my labels are really quite that red , more closer to the maroon, but my barcarolle label is the larger on my disc. I think it ranges from label size as random to often trying to balance the runoff area proportion to same amount , so depends on track length rather than A/B considerations |

| | Labels added.
The A side label diameter is 3⅝", and the B side 3⅜".
Would A sides normally have a larger label, or is it pretty random?
I notice several of the HMVs I still have to go through have different size labels. |
