scrough 16th Jan 2023		According to Frank Andrews this 78rpm was deleted from the UK catalogue in April 1959. But like many others, it may have appeared in a foreign HMV catalogue, and so manufacture may have continued beyond that date. He also notes that B 4501 to B 4998 were issued outside the UK.



xiphophilos 15th Jan 2023		Dated the XT scan. Worldstamps' images (1694813 and 1694814) have an even later PT tax stamp. Based on http://www.78rpm.net.nz/mechcopy/mech7.htm, this tax rate was in force 26 November 1962 to 1 January 1963. I'm surprised that anyone in the UK was still making 78s at that point.
