Drifton 26th May 2017		Concerning Image #717491, I can probably date this a little closer. The record that I have has been graved upon the label with 15/2/1947. I speculate that it was done either by the manufacture or retailer, or maybe even a professional body, as it looks too neatly scribed to be done by a casual purchaser. I have a photo of it should anyone be interested… if I knew where to upload it on this thread. Cheers, Dave

xiphophilos 2nd Feb 2017		Thanks! I hope this entry can become a little label guide for HMVs from 1939 on, beyond what Howard Friedman provides here. That said, I noticed tax codes on 3 of the sides that may require some changes to the order: Image #1253162: ST tax code (Single Tax = 33%), applied between April 10, 1946 - November 12, 1947. So this can't be the original 1939 release. Image #431217: TT tax code (Triple Tax 100%), applied between April 14, 1943 - April 9, 1946. Image #717491: This is a variant of #1253162 (with "Made in England" above the cat. nr. and a different logo for the Darewski publishing company), but also bears the ST tax code (Single Tax = 33%), applied between April 10, 1946 - November 12, 1947.
