Buddy’s Grandfather a noted geologist emigrated to the US and married a wealthy heiress. After being involved on the ground floor of a couple of railroads and working for the US government he returned to the UK. Buddy was a recipient of a nice inheritance and it afforded him a luxurious lifestyle to pursue his hobbies in music and as a rather successful race car driver. He spent it all. His estate home was later purchased by Jimmy Page, John Bonham died there.

 Apparently not - according to those that knew him he insisted that it was pronounced as spelt.

 I assume "Featherstonhaugh" is pronounced "Fanshaw"...
