If the other side from the variants image is identical to another image already posted you could say in the comment “Side A variant added B side identical to image no. 2932818” for example.
I will do this in future but have some images in folders with only the variant detail.

I can see why people wouldn't want to see lots of duplicate images. In order to offer useful descriptions, though, they need to know what features of a label are relevant in terms of dating it, and I doubt that many casual users will be able to do that. I myself am still learning to keep all the HMV variants apart. It seems the safest way to go is, when in doubt, upload both.

Problem is you then end up with loads of duplicate images if you upload images of both sides which others have complained about a better method might be to describe what is on the other side in the comments section when you upload the variant image.

The "XTT" is actually a DT label code where the D was overstruck by an X and replaced by a T to turn it into a TT label code.
purchase tax code DT: 15 Apr. 1942 – 13 Apr. 1943
purchase tax code TT: 14 Apr. 1943 - 9 Apr. 1946

The original would have had purchase tax code T (21 Oct. 1940 – 14 Apr. 1942), cf. http://www.78rpm.net.nz/mechcopy/mech7.htm

By the way, it makes it a lot easier to arrange labels chronologically when we have both sides of a label even if only one of the may introduce a variant in publisher logos, etc. On this entry, we seem to have lots of unconnected labels (except for the TT version Redpunk just uploaded), and they were not listed chronologically, but started with the second-oldest first.

This is the overture to Rossini's opera La gazza ladra (English: The Thieving Magpie).

Track titles on labels:

A: Overture Part I "The Thieving Magpie" (La gazza ladra)
B: Overture Conclusion "The Thieving Magpie" (La gazza ladra)

Uniform title (heading added to the data entry to unite all versions of a title regardless of spelling, language, etc. This is a Library of Congress heading):

A-B: Rossini, Gioacchino, 1792-1868. Gazza ladra. Sinfonia

I note that Arthur Fiedler has been edited out of the Artist and reduced to the Notes section, despite having equal prominence on the labels.
Apart from his involvement with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Fiedler later founded the Boston Pops Orchestra so his longevity was the greater - surely there must be an argument for him appearing in an Artists Search as is the case in Classical World?
