Originally released by ARC (Australian Record Company) in 1955, later re-released by EMI after they took over the label.

US issue reviewed in Billboard, Feb. 26, 1955, p. 38.

This music appreciation series as a whole is announced for Fall 1954 in Billboard, Sep. 11, 1954, p. 20.

Unfortunately, nowhere is there any mention of Bud Freeman although some library catalogs link this Bud Freeman to the jazzer, e.g., the National Library of Australia.

Does anybody know if the Bud Freeman who wrote the scripts for this disc is the famous jazz saxophonist? I know that Freeman wrote a parody of Noel Coward's "Private Lives" (called "Private Jives", which Milt Gabler did him the favor of issuing on Commodore records) and that at times Freeman had aspirations to an acting career. He also wrote a book about his career, but I don't recall anything about this.
