xiphophilos 22nd Mar 2017		"Gloomy Sunday" is the famous/notorious "Hungarian Suicide Song" by Hungarian composer Seress Rezső (last name first, since it's Hungarian): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloomy_Sunday. It became well-known in the English speaking world after Billie Holiday's 1941 recording of it, and I think one can make out some of Holiday's phrasing in Trudy Richards' version. For comparison, here's Billie Holiday's version:
